Volunteer Opportunities
The Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo was formed by a small group of people that over the years has grown into a network of over 1,500 volunteers contributing their time to over 30 committees. These dedicated and hard-working individuals keep the Show's vision alive, sharing it with Austin and the greater Central Texas community.
Volunteers are not just active during the two-week run of the Show. They work throughout the year to plan, prepare and organize the event. Click here to learn about the different committees on which our volunteers serve, or view the Committee Member Handbook.
Please Note Deadline
The membership deadline was November 1, 2009. You are still welcome to sign up to become a volunteer, but memberships placed after November 1, 2009 will not receive Fairgrounds passes, gold or silver badges, parking passes or 100X Club admission.
Volunteer Membership Levels
Drover: Rodeo Rookie
- No annual membership dues
- All ages
- Option to purchase advanced Rodeo tickets
- Newsletter subscription
- Committee appointment required to receive:
Wrangler: Annual Member
- $25 per year membership dues
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Option to purchase advanced rodeo tickets
- Invitation to special volunteer events
- Newsletter
- Auto decal
- Committee appointment required to receive:
- Silver badge season pass
- Free committee parking in designated lot
- Free admittance to 100X Club
Ranger: Life Member
- $500 one time membership fee
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Option to purchase advanced Rodeo tickets
- Invitation to special volunteer events
- Newsletter subscription
- Auto decal
- Committee appointment required to receive:
- Gold badge season pass
- Free committee parking in designated lot
- Free admittance to 100X Club
Individual Founder
- $5,000 or greater one time membership fee
- Individual must be at least 21 years of age
- Two Founder’ Club membership cards and 8 guest tickets per night
- Two parking passes in designated founder lot
- Exclusive access to Founder’ Club
- Live television broadcast of Rodeo and entertainment
- Option to purchase advanced Rodeo and Concert box seats in premium location
- Invitation to special volunteer events
- Newsletter subscription
- Auto decal
- Committee appointment required to receive:
- Gold badge season pass
- Free admittance to 100X Club
Corporate Founder: Devoted Supporter
- $10,000 or greater on time membership fee
- Four Founders Club membership cards and 16 guest tickets per night
- Four parking passes in designated Founder Lot
- Exclusive access to Founder Club
- Live television broadcast of Rodeo and entertainment
- Option to purchase advanced Rodeo and Concert box seats in premium location
- Invitation to special volunteer events
- Newsletter subscription
- Auto decal
- Committee appointment required to receive:
- Gold badge season pass
- Free admittance to 100X Club
