CRABTREE AMUSEMENTS OFFERS FAMILY FUN
Austin, Texas, March 21, 2011 – Rodeo Austin is proud to bring Austin a family friendly carnival as part of the 16-day Fair and Rodeo event each March. The carnival is provided by Crabtree Amusements; a family owned and operated business, and has been partners with Rodeo Austin for eleven years. Both Crabtree Amusements and Rodeo Austin are proud to provide Austin a safe, clean and enjoyable carnival atmosphere.
Rodeo Austin employees a third party safety and inspection company, Dudley Consultants, whose role is to serve as the Fairgrounds Safety Consultant & Carnival Ride Inspector. Dudley Consultants conducts pre-event management of Fairgrounds attractions, carnival rides and games including approval of rides and ride operators according to federal law standards. Dudley Consultants conduct daily on-site safety consultation, ride inspections and problem resolution to ensure all rides and attractions are operating in a safe and proper manner.
Crabtree Amusements owner Pat Crabtree has been in the carnival business for more than 30 years with Crabtree Amusements being incorporated in 1989. Pat grew up helping his father work local carnivals during the summer and his wife Cheryl Crabtree grew up with her parents owning a carnival company themselves. Their daughter, Melissa Kibby, works with her parents in running the company’s finances alongside her husband Brandon Kibby. Crabtree Amusements takes the utmost care when hiring carnival employees and conducts background checks and drug tests for all employees.
Currently 50 rides and 35 games are hosted on the Fairgrounds, providing endless fun for the thousands of families that will visit the carnival this week. Whether your favorite is the ferris wheel for traditionalists, the Freak Out for the more adventurous or the Wacky Worm for the younger crowd, there is something for everyone at the carnival. In between rides you can take a break and nibble on a candy apple or the always popular funnel cake. Don’t forget to try your luck at the game section with the ring toss, balloon darts or water gun shoot and you might even win a goldfish! The carnival will be open through March 26, 2011 opening daily at 4:00 pm Monday – Friday and at 11:00 am on Saturday. Rides run from $2 to $10 per ride or you can purchase an unlimited ride wristbands for $32 for adults or $29 for children which includes fairgrounds admission.
