Scholarships
Rodeo Austin works year-round to raise funds for the Scholarship Program. Since the inception of the program in 1981, Rodeo Austin has awarded $5.9 million in college scholarships.
The organization partners with Texas colleges and universities, as well as 4-H and FFA Foundations, to provide scholarships for deserving Texas students. As one of central Texas’ largest non-profit providers, Rodeo Austin will proudly present $484,000 in college scholarships to 45 students in 2013.
Scholarship Quick Facts:
- Scholarships range in value from $5,000 to $16,000, averaging $10,755 per student;
- Recipients come from all walks of life and may pursue any degree plan at a Texas college or university;
- A majority of recipients come from urban or suburban backgrounds;
- Currently, 125 scholarship-awarded students are enrolled in 50+ different majors at 17 Texas colleges or universities;
- Nearly half of scholarship recipients come from a household income of $50,000 or less;
- 87 cents of every dollar spent at Rodeo Austin goes towards the mission Promoting Youth Education - Preserving Western Heritage.
