The Director Emeritus class is the organization's highest honor and is bestowed upon individuals who have made a significant impact through the course of their involvement and continue to support and promote the Rodeo Austin mission.
On Friday, June 1, 2012, retired Board members Marvin Hamann and Billy Fred Platt were awarded plaques during the Rodeo Round-Up Party & Annual Meeting in the presence of friends, family and fellow supporters.
Marvin Hamann
Marvin Hamann is an extraordinary man who showed at the first Steer Selection on the Capitol grounds. He also served as the Steer Superintendent for many years and on the Board of Directors with heavy involvement with the Steer Committee.
Billy Fred Platt
Billy Fred Platt has been involved since the 1980s, serving as a Director from 1987-1997. He was heavily involved in the construction of the Expo Center including clearing of the land and providing dirt for the arena from his own land.
