Fiddle Contest

Members of the Texas Old Time Fiddlers Association (TOFA) will come from all across Texas and beyond to compete in the fiddle contest held during The Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo. Playing styles vary, but the Texas Style featured in this contest has proven to be one of the most popular.

Some of the finest, most highly accomplished fiddlers will give memorable performances on-stage to the delight of audiences. Judges will award first through eighth place in several age divisions, including 0-8, 9-12, 13-18, 19-54 and 55 and over.

TOTFA was formed in 1973 to help serve as a network for fiddlers to improve skills, to promote the awareness of an American tradition, and above all, to preserve a rich tapestry of melodies with historical significance. Members of the Texas Association are in contact with fiddle organizations throughout the country and help organize contests and events across the state.
